Diving In Malapascua Island, Philippines

I will surely add this to my “Places I Must Go Before I die” list! Wouldn’t you agree?

They say if you want to go to a world class diving and beach location, go to Philippines.

It was with these hearsay that we decided to head to Malapascua Island, off the northern tip of Cebu Island, for our advanced open water course.

To get to Malapascua Island, my diving buddy and I flew to Cebu and took a 3 hours taxi ride to Maya. At Maya jetty, we took a private boat to Malapascua Island. The boat landed us exactly in front of our diving center, Evolution. Dive centers and resorts lined up the beaches of Malapascua Island. The water was clear blue, the beach was clean and parallel to the beach were rows of coconut trees with hammocks strung across one another. It was exactly how I imagined Malapascua Island to be.
